First Yell 2014 TBD
About First Yell
Below is the First Yell from 2013. Stand by for the announcement for our 2014 First Yell!
First Yell, as an event, originated 14 years ago as an attempt by the Yell Leaders and the Association of Former Yell Leaders to create excitement for the upcoming season and to make the first Midnight Yell Practice the biggest and best Midnight Yell Practice of the year. The entertainment provided at the First Yell event was a collection of A&M organizations such as Singing Cadets and Aggie Wranglers, followed by a comedian of national prominence.
It is the second year for Texas A&M in the SEC and because of this there is a lot of interest from other SEC schools. They want to see, first hand, some of A&M's nationally recognized traditions, a great example being Midnight Yell. This year is gearing up to be one of the largest Midnight Yell Practices in the history of Texas A&M as we rally together to show the Alabama Crimson Tide what we are all about.
To insure a proper event for such a historical occasion, First Yell is also seeing some changes. The current Yell Leaders and the Association of Former Yell Leaders would like to present to you “Live from Kyle Field”, a music event with performers Lyle Lovett '79 and Robert Earl Keen ‘78, with Emmylou Harris and Rodney Crowell. The event will be on September 13, 2013 at Kyle Field and will begin at 8:00 pm and conclude at 11:00 pm, an hour before the start of Midnight Yell.
We invite all of our fellow Aggies and our SEC brethren from Alabama to attend First Yell and enjoy what we hope to be the biggest Midnight Yell in the history of Texas A&M! The tickets to this historic event can be purchased from the 12th Man Foundation ticket office by visiting the website, www.12thmanfoundation.com or by calling 1-888-992-4443 or 979-845-2311.
